The Lebanese Forces Party was formed as a consequence of many severe circumstances in Lebanon in late seventies when the Lebanese Christian community has sensed the need to protect themselves against imminent inner and outer menaces and threats. The dangers were amplified; the Palestinian military presence in Lebanon has threatened Lebanon’ sovereignty and independence. The resistance forces consisted of several separate factions: the Phalangists, The National Liberal Party, Al-Tanzeem Party and the Guardians of The Cedars, who took a multi-lateral proclamation on August 1976 to merge the war efforts and to establish a united resistance military committee under the domination of the Lebanese President Cheikh Bashir El Gemayel.
El Gemayel originated the Lebanese Forces. He created it, organized the troops and he sort it with his own devoted spirit for his lovely country Lebanon, expectations and ambitions. He controlled it to occupy a dual character in the Lebanese Christian community, a self-protective military mechanism a number around 30,000 fighters and an advanced infrastructure that has provided to the Christian community a political, economic and social support through both radio and TV stations. He persisted to serve everybody with that competence in anticipation of his presidential election of Lebanon in 1982, and as a result he was assassinated by all the enemies of Lebanon on September 14, 1982.

After his elimination, the Lebanese Forces went into a state of upset and paralysis that lasted few years until January 15, 1986 when Dr. Samir Geagea took its leadership. On that day the current of air started ragging and the stride of rebuilding, reforming and modernizing started to move forward. The Lebanese Forces became the merely foundation carrying a historical political intention for the Lebanese Christian community in the Middle-East.
The Lebanese Forces Party has sharpened in its association and innovation. After the agreement of the "Ta’ef Accord" on October 24, 1989 with worldwide and districted approval, it altered its military resistance into a political resistance. Therefore, the Lebanese Forces Organization, with its 30,000 members from all the Lebanese regions without mentioning their families, has been formed on September 10, 1992 was based on three unquestionable bylaws:
1- Conservation of Lebanon’s independence, self-government and distinctive identity within its international recognized boundaries.
2- Originate the Lebanese Government on the fundamental principles of human rights.
3- Set up a democratic system whereas freedom and Human Rights of every citizen are privileged and assured.
Post "Ta’ef Accord", and after dismantling its military machine and surrendering its weapons, the Lebanese Forces Party wounded to be in command of the deceitful digression in the achievement of the “Ta’ef Accord” due to the Syrian regime, single-handedly intriguing control of Lebanon’s case. This scenario has noticed on the Political ground as a result of two factors: the international/regional powers that accommodated the Syrian regime and the refusal of the Lebanese Muslims to respect and tolerate the "Ta’ef Accord".
The Lebanese Forces Party rejected this position and used every democratic means to apprehend its political goal on one hand and to put off Syria to take over Lebanon, on the other hand. As an effect, the ruling regime in Lebanon got underway maltreatment and frightening campaign against the Lebanese Forces Party starting with the government decision to disband it on March 24, 1994 and to erroneously lay blame on and imprison its leader Dr. Samir Geagea on April 21 of the same year. The waves of taking into custody began afterward and sustained to target Lebanese Forces officials and hundreds of its associates to investigation and to be beaten soon after. The government took possession of all resources and equipments belonging to the Lebanese Forces Party and took over all of its social, educational and media institutions.
The shortest result of this discrimination and shocking operation was the mandatory emigration of a huge number of Lebanese Forces Party members to Europe, United States and Australia where delegate political offices have been established for years.
Regardless of all the pressures exerted upon it and the false imprisonment of its leader, the Lebanese Forces Party is still the ultimate and organized party on the Lebanese political ground. This is proven by the certified results in the last municipal elections of 1998 (Three Hundred Lebanese Forces Party officials were elected). Moreover, the Lebanese Forces Party enjoys a well-built charisma and a spacious area of authority on the educational level within students organizations in universities and schools and also inside many labor unions representing doctors, lawyers and engineers to state a few. Still, the Lebanese Forces Party up till now cannot operate freely within Lebanon as other political parties who are Syrian sympathizers and residing here. The Lebanese Forces Party has proven all the way through time that it cannot be exterminated for the reason that it served an entire nation with thousands of martyrs shielding the Lebanese Christian origin and identity with nothing to lose in return except their valuable lives!
