May you ever breed in our hearts
You were the majesty that placed itself
Where lives were tattered to one side
You called out to our country
And you whispered to those in threats
Now you belong to heaven
And the stars spell out your name

And it seems to us you lived your life
Reminiscent of a candle in the storm
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in
And your footpath will always be followed
Along Lebanon's greenest mountains
Your candle's destroyed by fire out long before
Your legend never will

Loveliness we've lost
These unfilled days without your smile, your voice
This torch we'll always carry
For our homeland’s golden president
And nevertheless we try
The truth carries us to tears
All our words cannot express
The joy you brought us all the way through the years

Goodbye Lebanon's shaft of light
From a country vanished without your soul
